KOLKATA - CITY OF JOY
Hello friends , this is the 2 part of 'CITY OF JOY'. In this part I will give you some interesting fact about the Culture, Art & Tradition, Food, Religious Places ,Notable Persons & many more interesting thing of Kolkata.
1. ART & CULTURE (আর্ট & কাল্টুরে )
One of most culturally prosperous capital 'Kolkata', filled with surprises. Apart from different religion all assimilating into one lovely culture seem to make more glorious capital city. There is much more to kolkata than the big Red Bindi and Dhoti kurta. There are a lot of element about the culture of Kolkata i.e. Bangali Culture. Now we are going to look have at some interesting aspects of it.
TRADITIONAL DRESS (ট্রেডিটিনাল ড্রেস )
Bengali women traditionally wear a Sari, draping the Pallu in a special manner that is exclusive to the state of Bengal. Men used to wear Dhoti kurtas in olden times but now do so only during the special occasions like festival or marriages.
LANGUAGE (বাংলা )
Bangali (বাঙালি ) language is one of the sweetest language like its sweets & second most spoken language of INDIA.
Bengal has a rich legacy of amazing literature of great authors like Rabindra Nath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and many more notable persons.
*Although made famous in various part of country, each Biryani recipe have different taste. Kolkata Biryani have made with Chicken fried along with fried potato in rice. This yummy recipe must try if you are biryani lover if you ever go to Kolkata.

MUSIC AND DANCE (মাসিক & ডান্স )
Bengal is the land of musician and singer.Many singer & musician are from bengal like Satyajit Ray, Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet, Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghosal, Bappi Lahiri etc. I am sure there will be your favourite singer also.
Music and singing is important part of Bengali culture and traditions. Many of family teach their children classical music from early age.So that, this is one of the reasons and influence why they become so soulful singer.
Traditional form of dance of Bengal is 'Chau', where people wear the huge colourful mask and they dance which is one of interesting form of dance.
ARCHITECTURE (আর্কিটেকচার )
Kolkata architecture are different from most the Indian architecture.Its architecture are influences from Teracotta, Indo - Seracenic, Islamic and British. Kolkata once known as 'City Of Palaces'
One of extraordinary architectural site from 19's which have been became the identity of Kolkata i.e Howrah Bridge. This bridge is over the Hoogly River which connects Howrah to Kolkata.
FOOD & SWEETS (ফুড & স্বীটস )
Kolkata is famous for array of things but one of the best thing i.e its Food & Sweets. The mouth watering Rosogulla, Chomchom, Misti Dohi and the super tasty Sorshe llish & Chingri Machar Malai Curry, Kolkata Special Chicken Egg Biryani these are delicious mouth watering food.

3. RELIGIOUS PLACES
DAKINESHWAR KALI TEMPLE (ডাকিনেশ্বর টেম্পলে )
This beautiful Hindu temple is famous for the Goddess Kali.It is situated on the east bank of Hoogly river in Kolkata. This temple is famous for its unique architecture & design.
Belur Math (বেলুড় ম্যাথ )
This is the headquaters of Ramkrishna Mission & Ramkrishna Math.These twin organization was founded by the Swami Vivekanand.
From here Swami Vivekanand drive its spiritual movement across country and world.
St. Paul's Cathedral (সৎ. পল ক্যাথেড্রাল )
This famous church is of Anglican background in kolkata & this is one oldest church of India. Its stunning architecture make it more attractive. This is located near sight of Victoria memorial.
4. TIPU SULTAN MOSQUE (টিপু সুলতান মস্কোয় )
This beautiful mosque have long history along with Kolkata. It is located at the busiest place i.e. Dharmtalla. Its architecture include Indo-Islamic Mugal art.
4. TRANSPORT (ট্রান্সপোর্ট )
This is only city which have different mode of transport facility in whole country like Tram, Ferries, Metro, Hand Puller Rickshaw, etc.
Tram : Have you seen to run the Train type transport on road, but here you travel around the city through it. It is the one of oldest mode transport in Kolkata which seems to be very attractive it is cheaper also.
Ferries :You want to travel over the water, want to view the attractive scene & want to make journey memorable. You should try ferry service to cross the river other than drive over rush Howrah Bridge. If you going you should try ferry service which is very cheap & you will remember this moment over the long period.
Metro : Kolkata metro rail is the India's first metro which is run in 1984. Most part of metro is underground. This metro give quite feeling like running local train.
Hand Puller Rickshaw : This is quite interesting journey, many of us travel rickshaw many time. But the hand puller rickshaw give somewhat different journey experience.
